Lots and lots of rain here. More scheduled for tonight as well. But yes much better than snow.

I will be glad when I know the fix is holding up. Won't know until next week if it is or not.

I'll need a nap tomorrow for sure. Have to be at work by 5am to go out to Bloomington to get donuts for a fundraiser. Going to be super awesome. Can't wait to get up at 3:30...

thats about when I usually go to bed

doooooh nuts! (ah empty calories) loved them, but havent had one in years.

yeah rain, but its melting all of the snow piles!

got one long nap, then the guy who lives below me starting smoking and my apartment started to smell like cig smoke which woke me up (yes whenever he smokes it smells like it in my apartment...been like this the whole time we have lived here and nothing we can do about it, sad to say)...nothing like waking up coughing with a headache to make you feel refreshed
read a report about cig smoke, they actually have proof that smoking shortens your life (both primary and secondary) and causes bunches of other issues, and saw on the tv a report that tobacco smoking actually makes changes in your brain (ewww).
tons of good reasons never to smoke, havent seen ONE good one to.

I should have just stayed up until 3:30. Ended up falling asleep for an hour then waking up and not falling back asleep until 2:30. Ran on 2 hours of sleep yesterday, and minus being easily irritated, I was good. It was very odd. Did sleep when I got home.

Krispy Kremes are delicious. But they are not great for you. Oh well...

I think all of the snow piles here are finally gone. Although we did get a bit of a snow shower yesterday...

Just another reason they shouldn't allow smoking in apartments. We used to have someone here who smoked either in their apartment, or in the hallway. Smelled off and made our apartment stink as well. The complex finally told them that they had to smoke outside.

used to have a KK place down the way, didnt do well--it closed! now its an italian restaurant.

I think that spring is really trying to get here--we hit 50 today thats five zero and sunday is supposed to be even warmer (break out the shorts and the bikini tops!)

yes I would love it if they banned smoking in apartments and condos, but I know that will never happen (smell isnt soo bad when I sleep on the couch----).

so school is getting pretty close to the end again?...what only 2 or so months left? got plans for the summer? (cant believe summer--when spring hasnt even happened yet).

I visited my sister last week (senior housing) and her bathroom reeked of marijuana. Seems the woman next door sits in her bathroom to smoke it and it spreads through the bathroom vent system.

I'm lucky that none of my apartment house neighbors seem to have bad habits or barking dogs.

There was one in town here but that one closed down. So now we get to drive over an hour away to get them. Glad I never get them.

Was really nice yesterday and nice today. First couple days that hasn't had howling wind.

A little under 2 months left. I try not to think about it though. If I do it will take forever to get here...

yeah nice yesterday, but yet another cold front is here (have my fingers crossed for no more snow), but its supposed to get cold again for the next day or so...then perhaps, possibly it might actually be ...could it be???? ....SPRING!

I checked my herbs and my chives have already started growing, so they think its time (and the normally march plants--tulips etc--have started coming up around here as well).

we are not allowed to have dogs here, that said, my neighbor has one--though it doesnt bark too often (maybe once a month and then only one yap), we do have some roaming dogs and other critters (raccoons, possums...etc), who like to take evenings to announce there presence sometimes (sounds like a dog fight outback).
Bad habits we do have--though as they have been here longer (and gotten older), my doggie neighbors have had less and less late night/early morning parties and have kept their music at an acceptable level (perhaps they dont wish for their 4 legged friend to be found out), but they (and most of their visitors) smoke as well (and sometimes in the common area).

Shh, don't say that too loud cosy or you might scare it away!

We can have dogs and cats here but you have to pay a bit extra to have them. So we don't have one. And those that do have dogs have dogs that don't bark much at all.

You could always give an anonymous tip to the association. See what happens then.

I actually spoke to the 'head' of the association and she doesnt care, (unless they can SEE the dog they dont think its there, and when he takes it out he puts it in a bag--like a bowling bag or backpack--its a mini pincher so no one has seen it besides me and the lady downstairs--she moved out last year, so now its just me).
Just depends on which rules you break here as to what they do---not that they can do a whole heck of a lot about it anyways....
'er, you cant have a dog, its in the bylaws'
'yeah, so?'
'you will have to get rid of it',
'no',
'er, yeah, ok, so we are going to fine you'
'np'....

so each month they pay a small fine to keep the dog (if they even got that far with them), since we own our apartments they cant kick them out etc.

and yes, I will keep my appraisal of the weather a secret for now so as the not scare it away or provoke the snowman.

Sadly they are kind of stuck then. Guess it is good that it doesn't bark that much...

I actually got to go for a run today. Definitely could tell that I haven't run in a few months... Only got 2.5 miles in.

I hope so. Though in retrospect, 2.5 miles isn't shabby at all. Especially since I was clocking in under 10 minutes a mile. So it was a decent pace.

Wife had the balcony door open here as well. Supposed to be even warmer today!

yeah checked the next week and its not supposed to get too cool again (at least for the next 5 days), so hope it will stay in the 50's during the days....is nice to have some cleaner fresher outside air (ok when my neighbors arent smoking on their balconies) and air out the place.

yes, exercise is something I have been thinking about, though it doesnt seem to do much for me usually.

It is beautiful out again today. Even nicer than yesterday. They are calling for possible rain tomorrow, but still warm.

And thank goodness it was warm and nice out today. The car saga continues. At some point on my way to work I ran over a screw and during the day my rear tire went flat. So I got to change that and it is now out at the shop getting a new tire put on. I just got those tires 2 weeks ago. But I have road hazard so I don't have to pay anything for it, which is good. And I am going to try to get the exhaust fixed on it while it is the shop. Two birds, one stone. Definitely a minor thing compared to the previous ailments.

sounds like you need to get the gremilins away from your cars! (I have had the same thing happen--ran over a huge screw a few years ago---had to have the tire replaced, a costly thing on an suv).
good to have everything taken care of at once.

wonderful day...cloudy but nice and warm...(and they have tempted up with the 70 number )....yet, possible SNOW on monday night (sigh)....will it ever end????

Minor thing go BOOM! When they relooked at it they decided I needed a whole new exhaust from the engine back. $1000... So I got a second estimate today and it is right around there as well... Now I have to decided if I replace the exhaust or if I keep it as is till summer and buy a new car... Sigh.

Warm here also. Possibility for severe weather over the next few days because of it.

ah, I remember my exhaust system saga....everytime I needed a new muffler (had the car for 15 years--went thru a few), they would always tell me I had to replace the whole dang thing, ultimately went to one of those muffler places and asked if there was a way to JUST get the muffler and not all the pipes replaced each time, they said, heck yes--no reason to be replacing the pipes each time! So you might want to find out why they cant just replace the muffler and put it back in with the old pipes (unless those are rusted out); and why would you want to replace a good car because of the exhaust system???? these things wear out (as do brakes, tires, belts, etc) so you have a choice to spend money on a new car that will need those things (at some time) or replace the parts that are getting old and worn out on the current one.

But I guess I am just telling you what you already know, and you (and your wife) will make the decision on your own (its just I have an older toyota too and would rather fix it than buy what is currently on the market!---until they make a hybrid of the corrolla with a significantly larger trunk!)

The old pipes are rusted out as well apparently. So it really is the whole thing... Ya I know that a new car would need them as well. But my car is coming up on needing a new timing belt and water pump (~$1000) and then also replacing the exhaust (~$1000). Plus I just did ~$700 worth of work on it already this past month. So If I were to do all of those repairs it would be more than I paid for my car. So who knows. I need a new car at some point though.

I love my Camry, but I don't know if it is worth fixing over and over again...

but at this point there is not much trade-in value so you would have to put up some cash to get a new car (not to mention car payments----). ALL cars need to have maintenance repairs, thats just the price to pay for using them, but if the car still runs well, why get rid of it just because it needs some well deserved maintenance? (wont even mention that another car could have even more issues---sometimes its good to just stick to what you know instead of trading it in for unknown issues). Its not like its a major problem with the car, just getting older.

but either way, its not my decision to make---and nothing I say should really change your mind (not that it would anyways).
